First Aid Kit have posted an Instagram Story saying, ‘We’re all good. Miss playing for you guys’, hinting at a possible return in the not to distant future. In another ‘story’ posted by Klara, she is seen out partying with her friend Emilia Vicenta. All this seems to be encouraging news as we’ve not heard much from the band since they announced the cancellation of all their summer dates due to ‘unforeseen medical circumstances’. We wish them well and hope to see them back as soon as they’re ready!

First Aid Kit have posted to Twitter for the first time since announcing the cancellation of their summer tour due to ‘unforeseen medical circumstances’. The Tweet declares that they are ‘OK’ and shows a smiling Klara with her dog (and what appears to be drummer Scott Simpson reflected in a window). First Aid Kit had been due to kick off their tour in Glasgow on Friday.

Lolita Pop, the band featuring Klara and Johanna’s father, Benkt Söderberg, has reunited for what seems to be a one-off appearance at this year’s ‘Live at Heart’ arts festival. The festival takes place in Örebro, Sweden between 4 -7 September.

Lolita Pop are about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their first ever live gig which took place on 26th May 1979 at the legendary club Rockmagasinet, in Örebro. The ‘new wave’ rock band was popular in Sweden during the 1980’s.

Some encouraging news regarding Klara and Johanna. Both appear to have been out and about yesterday with their friend Emilia Vicenta. They were captured in her Instagram Story.

Following Saturday’s tour cancellation and statement by First Aid Kit, we’re still awaiting further news of what has happened. The full statement read as follows:

“We’re devastated to have to cancel the planned summer dates this year. We were super excited to play, but because of unforeseen medical circumstances, we simply cannot do the shows. All will be okay and we look forward to seeing you soon again. Lots of love and magic, K & J”

So far, we don’t know who’s been affected by these “unforeseen medical circumstances” (although we are given reassurances that “all will be okay”), however, there are some tentative indications it might be Klara.

Both Klara and Johanna have personal Instagram accounts. Klara’s account has been completely inactive for a couple of weeks now, which is unusual for her. On Friday, Johanna posted pictures of herself and some friends singing. The pictures were accompanied by the following comment:

“So emotional after a beautiful evening with @emiliavicenta @siricarlen & @wherearetheunicorns. Thank you for creating your art. Thank you for helping me feel the strength of female community in hard times. We cried and we sang and we’re all stronger for it.”

Whether these words are related to what has happened or not, we don’t know.

Klara is known to be diabetic – a condition which has a risk of various complications. Earlier this year, First Aid Kit completed a gruelling 120 date world tour.

Whatever the circumstances, we hope for a speedy recovery.

We are sad to hear that First Aid Kit have had to cancel all their summer dates this year due to unforeseen medical circumstances. No further details are available at present (apart from the Tweet below) but whatever has happened, we wish them well!
