Ever got confused about what time it was? Well, it happened to me last night as I was getting ready to go to the show! Somehow, I thought it was an hour earlier than it actually was, so by the time I reached the venue, First Aid Kit were halfway through their set. The venue itself was under some railway arches. The place was packed, which meant I couldn’t get a very good view as one of the arches was in the way. Not to worry, they sounded great anyway! When I did manage to get a better view, I noticed that the backing band line-up had changed. Freja Drakenberg was still there on keyboards but the Runemark brothers had been replaced by former drummer Scott Simpson and ‘Palomino’ producer Daniel Bengtson on guitar. After the concert, Scott Simpson explained that he was only standing in and hadn’t returned as their full-time drummer. He said stand-in drummer was one of three jobs he was doing for the band. His main job was band manager but he also had a third job as a part-time photographer.
Spotted the legendary ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris of ‘Old Grey Whistle Test’ fame in the audience.
